I'm feeling a bit sentimental today. Old friends are the best friends. Thanks for a great dinner girls!

I just did a simple overlapping fold in the back as opposed to a zipper. That way H.H. can lay his face comfortably on the cushion no matter which side is facing up (That was his one stipulation - the cushions must be soft on the face - shish - men!).

Aren't they neat? I had a fun time with them. Their dresses are made from various artificial flower petals, bodies are made of florist wire, heads are wooden beads, hair - thread. Had to paint on the faces.
Wish I had some clearer pictures - these were the best of the bunch.
They will call this box home as they travel through the mail for the next few days.

The fabric I used was from a bag of FREE fabric I got from work - the benefits of working for an architectural/interior design firm (I'll tell you more about this in another post as it is equally exciting!!!)! This was my first time using interfacing, so my stitching came out a bit crooked, I'm hoping to get better with practice!
I picked up these books from the library the other day. I am feeling very crafty lately and need some inspiration. Lots of good ideas in the 'Vintage Fabric' and 'Vintage Style' books and nice photos. Haven't had a chance to look at the 'Decorating Fabric' book yet.
Also found these photos on the Internet. Aren't these cool pincushions? Much nicer than that old tomato kind that most sewers have hanging around.
This one is hilarious... I would feel bad about stabbing the poor thing in the back though...literally!

I might just pick up one of these books to read again - you know - re-live my childhood a bit.
His is on the left, mine is on the right...
